Advanced Controls

The Kathabar Dry advanced control system allows you to monitor and manage your conditions via a wide range of variables and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) options for your system. Many of these variables are directly associated with the various modules that will be added depending upon the particular application’s needs. Sensors associated with the cooling and heating coils, process fan, as well as face and bypass are many of the common variables that are accompanied with our advanced controls systems.

Basic Controls

TS1

Inlet Reactivation Temperature sensor Used to set the maximum temperature entering the reactivation section of the wheel by way of the PLC.
Δ P1 Process Differential Pressure Gauge Sensor used to indicate the pressure drop across the process section of the wheel. Indicates the condition of the wheel
Δ P2 Reactivation Differential Pressure Gauge Sensor used to indicate the pressure drop across the reactivation section of the wheel. Indicates the condition of the wheel
TS3 Heating Coil Temperature Sensor Associated with optional heating coils that may be added on for winter conditions to manage the discharge temperature control the heating coil valve indicated as V1 on the diagram, operated by the PLC.
TS4 Cooling Coil Temperature Sensor Associated with optional cooling coils that may be added on to manage the discharge temperature to control the cooling coil valve indicated as V2 valve on the diagram to control the amount of coolant distributed to through the cooling coil, operated by the PLC.
TS5 Process Air Temperature Sensor Manage the discharge temperature and set point prior to exiting the fan. This is another optional sensor that is used to manage the coil valve, V3, shown on the diagram.
MD Bypass damper percentage (Manual/Automatic) Manage the amount of air being processed by the wheel, as well as how much you would like to mix with it downstream of the wheel to maintain leaving air conditions
RH/DP Process relative humidity / dew point sensor Allows for design set conditions via the dew point or relative humidity coming off the process side of the wheel.
Comm. Communication Interface Allows building management system to be integrated into the PLC for view and manipulation of system status and variables.
